Reiki can be defined as “a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional wellbeing” (Oxford English Dictionary).

It is an ancient art, a form of complementary healing during which the energy is conveyed through someone who is qualified, or attuned. The concept has been around since the beginning of the 20th century and is becoming ever more popular. It is proving to be effective in supporting people who have cancer – Macmillan advocate Reiki for those living with cancer. Those who are in hospital – St Georges’ hospital have Reiki trained staff who work upon the wards as part of their connecting Reiki with medicine programme; and for those suffering from forms of mental anguish – the UK Reiki Federation are now supporting the Reiki Medic programme which is in place to care for frontline NHS workers.

Reiki can be given with hands on, or light touch; hands off, or from a distance. This is a difficult concept to understand but Sarah’s successes with distance Reiki speak for themselves. Read the case studies for further information or call Sarah for a chat, she’d love to hear from you to discuss your needs and to explain the process.
